Second Life
Second Life was created as a virtual online community...made to mimic real life as closely as possible. It is important for educators to understand all the implications of online tools. Although Second Life houses many universities and other organizations, there are also some dangers in SL. Several universities hold classes in SL and it is not uncommon for classes to be going on as you roam the halls of the university buildings. Does SL and other similar "virtual worlds" have a place in education? What about the future?

Logon and explore Second Life for an hour or so and see what you discover. Try visiting some of the universities in SL...both Furman and Clemson have University places there and you can also visit ISTE there. You can search for the various places you want to visit by using the search bar.
Once you have explored to your satisfaction, post about your experience on the Edmodo site.
